IMPORTANT SERVICE-AREA NOTE
National information, one physical workshop
These South Africa pages are vehicle-care information and enquiry resources. Top Point Fitment Center's physical workshop is at 112 Turf Club Street, Turffontein, Johannesburg South. This website does not claim Top Point branches in other South African cities or provinces. Product sourcing, fleet support or workshop availability must be confirmed for the specific enquiry.
Start with the tyre size
The tyre size printed on the sidewall is one of the most important details when comparing options. A typical size contains width, profile and rim diameter information. Load and speed ratings also matter, so a tyre should not be selected on price alone.
Compare like with like
When comparing tyre quotations, check whether the price includes fitment, balancing, valves where applicable and any other workshop charges. Also compare brand, pattern, load rating, speed rating and warranty terms rather than looking only at the headline price.
Fitment, balancing and alignment are different jobs
Tyre fitment installs the tyre onto the wheel. Balancing corrects weight imbalance in the wheel-and-tyre assembly. Wheel alignment adjusts suspension geometry. A vehicle may need one, two or all three depending on condition and symptoms.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
South Africa vehicle-care questions
What details should I send for a tyre quote?
Send the full tyre size from the sidewall. If unsure, send the vehicle make, model, year and current tyre details or a clear sidewall photo.
Should I replace tyres only by brand?
No. Suitability also depends on the correct size, load and speed ratings, intended use, condition of the vehicle and budget.
Does a new tyre automatically mean I need wheel alignment?
Not automatically, but alignment is worth checking when the vehicle pulls, the steering wheel sits off-centre, tyres wear unevenly, or the vehicle has had a significant pothole or kerb impact.
